The floor of Lake of the Pines is mostly organic matter, silt and mud.  The water is quite clear and contains brown tannins giving the lake a clear brown hue.  On sunny days you can see down 6-8 feet. Â
The lakes temperature in mid summer ranges from 70 – 76 on average and fluctuates with the recent air temperatures and rain levels. In the winter the lake freezes solid.
On the average summer day, the lake is calm and smooth offering a nice reflection of the sky and waterline..
Lake of the Pines is a private lake and offers no public access. The only way to have access is to purchase property, rent one of the vacation rentals or have a resident grant you access.
Only non-motorized vehicles such as paddleboats, kayaks, canoes, SUP’s and Rowboats are allowed on the lake.
Fishing at Lake of the Pines is pretty good. The small lake is home to many of the same fish in Brantingham Lake.   Blue Gill, northern pike, Brown Bullhead, Lake Whitefish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Pumpkinseed Sunfish, Rock Bass, White Sucker, and Yellow Perch have all been found in LOTP.Â
