 The floor of Long Pond is mostly organic matter, silt and mud.  The water is quite clear and contains brown tannins giving the lake a clear brown hue.  On sunny days you can see down 6-8 feet. Â
The ponds temperature in mid summer ranges from 70 – 76 on average and fluctuates with recent air temperatures and rain levels. In the winter the lake freezes solid.
On the average summer day, the lake is calm and smooth offering a nice reflection of the sky and waterline.
Long Pond has generally a good fishing location and includes Bass, Rock Bass, Rainbow Trout, Perch and Pickerel.
Long Pond is a private pond and offers no public access. The only way to have access is to purchase property, rent one of the vacation rentals or have a resident grant you access.Â
 Only non-motorized vehicles such as paddleboats, kayaks, canoes, SUP’s and Rowboats are allowed on Long Pond.Â
