RECREATION
Located on the Black River in the village of Lyons Falls, the Lyons Falls Waterfall is just below where the Moose River joins the Black River.
Located adjacent to the falls is an old hydro electric plant.
Below the falls is a kayak launch and beach front mini park that is semi maintained. Â
Â
Summers at Lyons Fall waterfall welcome a variety of water activities such as Kayaking.  Fall is an especially beautiful season when all the trees turn colors. In the Winter the water is far too cold to enter without a wetsuit.
Â
The water flowing down the falls is typically much colder than the surrounding still lakes.  It is mostly very clear with a brown tannin hue. The floor of the falls is mostly smooth, slippery rock and should be treated with extreme caution where wet.
A few of the deep areas after the falls serve as good fishing spots for local fishermen. The river is known to have trout.
Â
Lyons Falls can be accessed by car, truck and any ATV vehicle.  There is a small unpaved public parking area on Lyons Falls Road where you can climb down to the rocks near the falls. The trail is a natural one and requires a sure footed hike to reach the falls below. Â
